That's Enough About Me, Let's Talk About Me
Personalization Has Taken Over!

It's My Life, My Card, MySpace, YourTube, MyHorizon, My Yahoo, MyMonster, MyChannels. Even Charles Schwab is now Chuck. The Blog Sites are characterized by the neverending postings of pictures of each author and will even define this entire generation of Me's.

Micro-marketing is now rocket-science and everyone wants to know "what's in it for me?"

And there are a lot of different "me's." There's me the almost 50 year old, me the President, me the Woman, me the Consultant and even me the Computer Geek.

In Marketing to Me, you need to find out about me. After all, it might be your Company, Your Opportunity and even your signature on My Paycheck. But in JodyLand, it's all about me.

Fine tune your objectives as much as possible. Which me are you looking for?
Which mes have done well in your organization before me?
And which me is going to thrive in your unique culture?

What am I attracted to? How do I speak? How do you find me? And when you do find me, what are the first things you say?

In Marketing to Me, you need to find out about me. After all, it might be your Company, Your Opportunity and even your signature on My Paycheck. But for better or worse, in JodyLand, it's all about me.

Saint Nick
When putting together a communications company, image is everything. Finding the right talent means finding someone with experience, maturity and above all-- talent. Not computer skills but the old fashioned, drawing in the margins, doodling while the teacher is talking TALENT.

Meet Nick-- and meet the person responsible for putting the BRAND in BRANDEMiX.

He's our Creative Phenom, our Sounding Board, Our Good Humor Man and our Fred Flintstone. Maybe you've seen the great work we've done but you haven't seen the smile that he brings to the office each morning. Now you have!

(But just 1 cup of coffee Nick OK?)

Some Interesting Reading from 666
Happy 666 Day- I mean the 6th of June 2006. Just a recap of where I've been before lunch--

1. WorkForce Week Poll-
go here and log your vote in.
What is Your Company's Current Outlook on Hiring?
Result: (166 participants surveyed so far.)

1. Is your company hiring, firing or freezing?
Our business looks good and we have plans to hire. 69%
Business has gone south and we are planning to reduce our workforce. 6%
We're not certain of the future, with gas prices and other costs on the rise, we aren't hiring or firing right now. 25%

2. More Workforce Week--
A checklist of ideas to endorse organizational change
Here is a checklist to examine as you progress down the road of
organizational change:

Ensure the endorsement or involvement of high-profile executives.
Identify early adopters of the new behaviors and have them champion
change throughout your organization.
Establish a communication strategy.
Communicate the reasons for change.
Educate employees on how to accept change
Encourage responsibility without risk of failure/loss of job.

3. Today's New York Times
"Online Newspaper Ads Gaining Ground on Print"

According to estimates released on Friday by the NAB
(Newspaper Association of America) - online advertising is up 35%
for the first 3 months of 2006 over last year. Newspapers only up .3%
*though it's still alive and well at $10.5 billion/year)

Now, I'm not telling you to go post more jobs on Monster.com.
But lets develop a web strategy to utilize 35% on your advertising budget
and gain traction with your audience. C'mon. Let's shake it up!!

Anyway-- that's all for now-- It's lunch time!

The R.O.I of Commitment to Employees!
Back a few weeks ago, I blogged about how Millenials want to work for a socially conscious, benevolent company. (Anyway, I haven't checked but if I didn't, I meant to!)

But then a new study sponsored by the National Consumers League in conjunction with Fleishman Hillard PR co found that people identify Corporate Social Responsibility with how well a company is committed to the well being of its employees.

Companies work hard to build alliances with philanthropic associations and promote these affiliations but according to the NY Times article "COMPANIES WOULD BE BETTER OFF EMPHASIZING HOW THEY TREAT THEIR EMPLOYEES". The communication about their sensitivity to employees should be their focus!

It sounds like everyone is on the same page with this- companies that not only treat employees well, have happier employees, higher marks for social consciousness, an easier time attracting and retaining talent and higher profitability.

So, forgive me for asking the obvious, but why aren't more people doing it?
